Next on Big Ten Elite: 2000 Purdue football

Drew Brees is one of the most popular NFL quarterbacks of this generation. But Brees first made a name for himself during his record-setting college career at Purdue. On Saturday at 4 p.m. ET, “Big Ten Elite” profiles the 2000 Purdue football team. In this documentary program, we look back at all the unforgettable moments that led to the Boilermakers’ Big Ten Championship season, the program’s first since 1966.

Brees led Purdue to an 8-4 record in 2000, including a perfect 7-0 mark at home. He closed out his career at Purdue with 11,792 passing yards and 90 touchdown passes, both Big Ten Conference records. The Boilermakers’ star quarterback won the Maxwell Award as the nation’s most outstanding player of 2000 and finished third in the Heisman Trophy voting.

Purdue defeated Indiana 41-13 to close out the conference season, earning the program’s first Rose Bowl appearance since 1967.

The show will feature interviews with Brees, head coach Joe Tiller and Vinny Sutherland, among others.

When will you have the 11/24/13 broadcast video of Drew Brees at Purdue available on your website or when are you airing it again. I can access the 10/12 video of Purdue Football 2000 on Big Ten Elite, but not the one aired on 11/24. I didn’t get to see it on 11/24, but heard about it. Thanks for responding, but this 1-minute clip is not the video of Brees’s senior year/Rose Bowl season that the BTN ran on 11/24 of this year.  It was a much longer video.  Thanks.
