So, in the event you were sleeping in the earliest of hours Sunday morning, there was quite the crazy and confusing finish to the Wisconsin-Arizona State game.

Let's try to describe the scene: Wisconsin was deep in Arizona State territory with 18 seconds remaining, when Wisconsin QB Joel Stave took the snap and ran left toward the center of the field to set up a straight shot for the potential game-winning field goal. Problem is, when Stave took a knee, he did so awkwardly and put the ball on the turf.

Cue the confusion.

Arizona State jumped on the ball after a few seconds, thinking (hoping) the play was still live. The officials, confused themselves, took their time retrieving the ball and spotting it. All the while, the clock kept ticking, and time expired before Stave was able to spike it.

The result: Arizona State 32, Wisconsin 30.

What a crazy finish. Had the Badgers been able to spike the ball, they would have had a chance to win the game on a 32-yard field goal.
