B1G Player Rankings: No. 19, Spencer Long

We’re 19 days from the 2013 football season kicking off. Indiana (Indiana State) and Minnesota (UNLV) get things started for the Big Ten on Thursday, Aug. 29 on BTN/BTN2Go. To help count down the days to kickoff, BTN.com is ranking the top 25 players. Join us as we count it down, from 25-1, every day.

No. 19: Spencer Long, G, Nebraska

A former walk-on, Spencer Long is the leader of an experienced Nebraska front that will pave the way for arguably the Big Ten’s most prolific and balanced offense. A 2012 second-team All-America, Long is one of the Big Ten’s premier guards, and his 6-4, 315-pound frame makes life so much easier on quarterback Taylor Martinez – both as a passer and runner – and Nebraska’s stable of talented running backs. This Nebraska offense will be fun to watch, and Long will be doing much of the dirty work to help make it happen.
