The impact of little Jack Hoffman?s scintillating 69-yard touchdown run in the Nebraska spring game continues to reverberate. Last night, the inspiring run by the 7-year-old cancer patient won an ESPY award for ?Best Moment.? Fitting and appropriate.
I was at the game and in the broadcast booth when Damon Benning made the call on the run. I was at a loss for words when the play unfolded, caught up in the wonder of the moment and soaking in the reaction of the crowd in attendance on that beautiful day in Lincoln. Little Jack continues to amaze and inspire–and always will.
