Even the most ardent Michigan supporters can root for Ohio State fan Grant Reed. When Reed, now 12, was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2011, he named it "Michigan." The son of a mother and father who were both Ohio State band members, Reed recently beat the disease at Nationwide Children?s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.

And the young Buckeye fan's immediate outlook is promising.
?We?ve beaten Michigan for the short term,? Troy Reed, Grant?s father, told freep.com. ?But like any rival, there?s a chance it can come back.?

Before Reed left the hospital – the same one that Ohio State coach Urban Meyer visited him in December – he and his brother, Collin, donated a pair of wagons for future patients. But they did it under one condition.
?It had to say 'Beat Michigan' on it," Reed's father told freep.com.
Naturally.
