Chances are, members of the Northwestern men's soccer family won't soon forget Saturday night. That's because nine former Wildcats and head coach Tim Lenahan had the honor of participating in the Messi and Friends exhibition event at Soldier Field.

"What a terrific day for us," Lenahan told NUSports.com. "All these guys I recruited, I promised them something special, and we've won some championships and had some great seasons, but I'm not sure I had this vision."

In addition to Argentine superstar Lionel Messi, the squads also included French footballing legend Thierry Henry, former US National Team captain and World Cup veteran Carlos Bocanegra, Premier League star Florent Malouda, and famed Brazilian goalkeeper Julio Cesar.

But Northwestern product Matt Eliason, a 2011 graduate and the program's all-time leading scorer, might have shined the brightest. Eliason scored two goals, including this bicycle kick from the penalty spot.
