Roy Devyn Marble scored 28 points to help Iowa hold off Stony Brook 75-63 on Friday night in the second round of the NIT. Aaron White added 13 points and seven rebounds for Iowa (23-12), which advances to quarterfinal matchup against the winner of Sunday's game between Virginia and St. John's. The Hawkeyes have won nine of their last 12 games.

FINAL: Roy Devyn Marble scored 28 points to lead Iowa to a 75-63 win over Stony Brook on Friday at Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City in the NIT. Zach McCabe was 3-of-5 from the floor and chipped in eight points for Iowa (23-12). The Hawkeyes shot 47 percent from the field (26-of-55). Iowa was on fire from beyond the arc during the game, shooting 42 percent (8-of-19). The Hawkeyes also got a double-digit effort from Aaron White (13 points).

Jameel Warney had 17 points, corralled seven rebounds, and went 7-of-9 from the field for Stony Brook (25-8) in the loss. The Seawolves hit 47 percent of their field goals (24-of-51). Stony Brook shot 6-of-16 from three-point range during the game, good for 38 percent. The Seawolves also got solid contributions from Dave Coley (12 points) and Anthony Jackson (15 points).

Iowa had the free throw shooting advantage, converting on 71 percent (15-of-21) attempts, to just 53 percent (9-of-17) for Stony Brook.

HALFTIME: Iowa took full advantage of the stellar combination of Roy Devyn Marble and Aaron White, ending the first half against Stony Brook up 37-34. Marble scored 16 points and had three assists. White scored nine points and shot 3-of-4 from the field. The Seawolves went into a funk with the score 12-11, going 1:45 without a point while the Hawkeyes went on a 7-0 run to open up an eight-point lead. Iowa moved the ball in the first half, accounting for 11 assists on 14 field goals. Stony Brook got points from seven different players. Dave Coley led Stony Brook in the first half, with 11 points and three rebounds.
