Women's hoops roundup: Iowa upsets No. 18 Purdue
Sunday featured a light schedule on the Big Ten women’s hardwood, but that doesn’t mean there wasn’t some great action. Northwestern hung tight with Minnesota through the first 30 minutes of play, and pulled away over the final 10 to earn a 70-63 road win over the Golden Gophers at Williams Arena on Sunday afternoon. Senior Kendall Hackney paced the Wildcats with 20 points and eight rebounds as the visitors improved to 12-13 on the year.
Iowa 72, No. 18 Purdue 52: BOX | AP RECAP
Samantha Logic scored 26 points Sunday to lead Iowa to a 72-52 win over No. 18 Purdue. Logic made 10 of 13 shots and contributed nine assists, while Theairra Taylor had 15 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. The Hawkeyes (17-10, 6-7 Big Ten) ended a five-game losing streak and won for the first time in West Lafayette since 1998; Purdue had won the last 12 meetings at home.
