FINAL: Aaron White went 4-of-6 from the field and led five Iowa players in double digits with 15 points as the Hawkeyes defeated Minnesota 72-51 on Sunday at Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City. Iowa also got double-digit contributions from Devyn Marble (15 points), Mike Gesell (11 points) and Zach McCabe and Eric May (10). Minnesota (18-8) started the game on a 21-5 run at the 12:58 mark, however Iowa made a big run and took the lead, 29-27, on a Marble field goal. The Hawkeyes shot 49 percent from the field (21-of-43) and 81 percent from the free-throw line (25-of-31). Austin Hollins scored 14 points for the Golden Gophers, who shot just 35 percent from the field (17-of-48).

HALFTIME: Minnesota led Iowa late in the first half, but allowed the Hawkeyes to use a 26-6 run to take a 34-29 lead into halftime. An aggressive offense and the ability to get to the charity stripe (11-of-13) allowed the Hawkeyes to take a halftime lead. Iowa put the clamps on the Golden Gophers' three-point game (2-of-10, 20 percent from long range), while Minnesota shot 58 percent in the first half on two-point field goals. After already giving up seven offensive rebounds to the Golden Gophers, Iowa will have to keep Minnesota off the boards in the second half. The Hawkeyes' Roy Devyn Marble had a big first half, with 13 points. Trevor Mbakwe led the way for Minnesota in the first half, with 10 points and three rebounds.
