Let me confess something before I start: I’m 5-foot-11, and I’ve never dunked. With that out of the way, it’s easy to understand why I’m such a big fan of the slam dunk. The number of high-flyers we currently have in the Big Ten doesn’t hurt matters, either, and it’s the reason I thought it would be fun to assemble the Big Ten’s Ultimate Dunker. Here goes.

Meet my creation below. Oh, and I followed two rules when creating this Ultimate Dunker: 1. Only current Big Ten players were considered; and 2. players were only eligible to win one category.
HANGTIME/UPS: Ohio State’s Sam Thompson
ARMS/REACH: Minnesota’s Rodney Williams
EXPLOSIVENESS: Indiana’s Victor Oladipo
POWER: Minnesota’s Trevor Mbakwe
GENES (OK, I had to find a way to get this guy included): Michigan’s Glenn Robinson III
I know there are several worthy candidates for every category, but these are the guys I like most. And I think we can all agree on one thing, and that’s that we would love to see a guy with all of these qualities in the open court.

Branden Dawson for the power. Period.
It was between those two, actually. Gave Mbakwe the slight edge.
Yea where the hells Dawson PERIOD, or Payne or anyone from MSU???… Go SPARTANS!!!!
