Huh. MSU holds the 24th best offense in the country (by Ken Pomeroy’s adjusted offensive efficiency metric) to less than .9 points per possession, and they’re not in the discussion for the conference’s best defense? They’re 17th, Wisconsin is 15th – that’s a virtual tie. I’d still give the honor to OSU, but if Wisconsin is in the conversation, MSU should be too, especially after besting Wisconsin’s excellent defensive performance in Madison.

I luv it when people who were never in the arena claim to know what they are talking about, usually with stats. Doug, you just keep the drivel coming until March when the B1G Tourney is done and over. Like most at btn, knowing nothing about how a game is played isn’t a disadvantage.

The team that won is the team that should have won. While Wiscy is a poor free throw shooting team, they are hands down the best at flopping. Bruesewitz should get an Oscar for falling down late in the game when Russell Byrd tried to dribble around him.

Neither team shot well. Missing a jumper and missing a free throw are misses. I feel pointing out that, had Wisconsin made more of their free throws they would have won, while true, is meaningless because they didn’t. MSU played well enough to win a tough Big Ten away game. Wisconsin did not play well enough to win at home. In the Big 10 that is a more important and meaningful stat.
