The nation's lone undefeated team, Ohio State, finished No. 3 in the AP Poll. The Buckeyes were ineligible for the Coaches Poll due to NCAA sanctions.

Also ranked in the AP Poll were Northwestern (No. 17), Michigan (No. 24) and Nebraska (No. 25). The Huskers (No. 23) were the only Big Ten team to join the Wildcats in the Coaches Poll.

Alabama, of course, finished No. 1 in both polls for the second consecutive season and the third time in the last four years.
