Northwestern Helmet
@NU_Sports

Michigan won't be the only Big Ten team wearing an alternate matte helmet for its New Year's Day bowl. Northwestern, which debuted a matte black helmet earlier this season, will rock another matte look in Tuesday's Gator Bowl.

This matte helmet features Northwestern's "N," with a silver border, as opposed to the oversized Wildcat the team wore Oct. 20 vs. Nebraska. It's a nicer, more subtle design than the first matte lid.

The helmet marks Northwestern's fourth of the season, its first with Under Armour. Prior to Tuesday, the Wildcats also have strapped up their tradition lid, a patriotic one and the aforementioned matte.
