Deshaun Thomas scored 17 points and grabbed eight rebounds and Aaron Craft added 10 points and four boards as they teamed up to lead No. 10 Ohio State to an 87-44 victory over Chicago State on Saturday at Value City Arena in Columbus.

FINAL: Ohio State (10-2) hit 57 percent of its field goals (33-of-58). The Buckeyes were on fire from beyond the arc during the game, shooting 47 percent (8-of-17). Ohio State shot 13-of-27 from the free throw line. The Buckeyes were tough on the offensive boards, grabbing 20.

Ohio State held Chicago State (3-12) to 27 percent shooting from the field and hauled in 36 defensive boards, while only allowing six offensive rebounds.

Other Ohio State scorers in double figures included Amedeo Della Valle (11 points), Lenzelle Smith, Jr. (13 points), and LaQuinton Ross (15 points).

The Cougars got double-digit efforts from Quinton Pippen (12 points).

The Buckeyes won the rebounding battle en route to victory, pulling down 56 boards to 25 for Chicago State.

HALFTIME: Deshaun Thomas and Lenzelle Smith, Jr. have teamed up to give No. 10 Ohio State a 37-24 lead over Chicago State.

Thomas scored 12 points, grabbed four rebounds, had three assists, and shot 5-of-8 from the field. Smith, Jr. scored 11 points and shot 5-of-8 from the field.

The Buckeyes dominated on the glass in the first half, outrebounding the Cougars 21-13.

The game was tied 14-14 before Chicago State went into a funk, going the next 3:53 without scoring, and allowing Ohio State to take a 22-14 lead with 5:43 to go in the first half.

The Buckeyes made 14 of 20 two-point shots in the first half, but shot 2-of-9 from beyond the arc. Ohio State played team basketball in the first half, to the tune of 10 assists on 16 field goals.

The Cougars fired often and fired with accuracy from distance, hitting 50 percent (5-of-10) of their three-point attempts.

Quinton Pippen is putting together a nice game so far for Chicago State. The junior has nine points.
