Michigan fell to No. 3 seed Texas, 3-2, in the first semifinal of the NCAA women's volleyball tournament tonight, then top-seeded Penn State was upset by Oregon, 3-1, in the second semifinal. Texas 3, Michigan 2: Junior Lexi Erwin had 26 kills on 87 swings, and Michigan (27-11)  won sets two and three against Texas (28-4), but the Longhorns had a strong start and finish in the fifth and deciding set to win in front of 13,385 fans at the KFC Yum! Oregon 3, Penn State 1: Penn State (34-3) won the opening frame 25-21 before No. 5 seed Oregon (29-4) chalked up three straight wins (30-28, 25-22, and 25-19) to knock off the tournament's top seed.
