Clothes Call: Check out these Northwestern shoes

When it was announced last week that Maryland was joining the Big Ten, I predicted Under Armour would come up with some crazy uniforms for future Maryland-Northwestern football games. Turns out, we didn’t have to wait until 2014 for it. Under Armour, which outfits both schools, designed some crazy shoes that select players wore during Tuesday’s ACC/Big Ten Challenge game.

In a word, wow! Those almost look more like something a wrestler would wear than a basketball player. But, hey, the insole makes up for it.  Check it out:

Yep, Under Armour wants to make sure the players never forget when they wore these unforgettable kicks.

Gone are the days when channel surfing will let you tell at a glance who is playing due to the traditional uniforms. The Nebraska special uniform was so different but as the game wore on, they grew on you. The Wisconsin uniforms on the other hand were just ugly–giant W on the helmet. Some helmet decals for teams are pretty cool once you get a close-up to realize what they are.
