Even if I weren’t a biased Buckeye I’d have a hard time trying to rationalize the coaches shutting OSU offense out on 1st team.

Husker fan here that is happy that many of the Husker players got honors on either the 1st team or 2nd team in Big Ten, but with so much disparity in who was selected by coaches vs. writers, I have only come to one logical conclusion. “It don’t matter what you think” There is no accountability in anything any longer! Don’t like the results, tuff! Don’t like the moves being made in CFB, tuff! Don’t like how your health insurance works, tuff! < oops!

Oh well look on the bright side, we are one season closer to the new CFB playoff system where we all will be satisfied as to whom will be put into the 4 qualifying slots, right?

Ugh!

So Coach Meyer takes over a 6-7 team that had 4 big Ten teams ranked above them preseason and goes 12-0 with a team that only has 2 first team big ten players …coach of the year should have been a slam dunk!!

JS: You don’t get it. No one said the entire OSU roster should be represented. But most people would expect that the Conference’s ONLY UNDEFEATED TEAM would have as many first-team picks as any other team. But not according to the B1G coaches. I think that’s great. I also love that they snubbed Meyer. I’d love to have our Buckeyes go 12-0 every year, and get angry over the B1G coaches’ foolish snubs. Get ready for 12-0 next year, too.

So Denard beats out Gardner in 2010 as starting QB, now 2 years later they come up with Gardner was injured. What a joke. Hopefully the NCAA sees through that.

There is a significant DIFFERENCE between the media picks and coaches picks. There is just too much variance to chalk up to coincidence. I will leave it up to others to debate the possible reasons why. I do believe Meyer may interpret it as a slight and give him another reason to get his team fired up. He likes to coach angry teams…and buckeyes know all to well about playing against a Meyer coached team that is angry (2006 Florida team).

You are correct, they should have just picked the entire OSU roster and made them First Team, Second Team, and Honorable mentions. I mean, there isn’t a possibility that other individual players were better than the OSU players, but OSU was a better TEAM when you put all of those individual (yet lesser) players together.
