Life long Husker fan, here… Just wanted to say I love being in the B1G! Bring on Wisconsin! I don’t expect, or want, to walk over any team in a conference championship game. Say what you want about injuries or circumstances, but Nebraska has enjoyed significant success while playing a brutal schedule the past 2 years, and earned respect in its new league. You can’t take any of that away with talk of an injured player or circumstance beyond your team’s control. Nebraska has defeated every top tier team in the B1G at least once over the past 2 years, and I mean no disrespect in expressing confidence in our performance against Illinois and the Indiana teams the near future, and Maryland, Rutgers and whomever else down the line.

It did look that way, I hate to play the what if game cuz then Id wonder what if Rex Burkehead was not injured all season. The guy is awesome and has not even been a factor this year for us. I never count anything as a sure thing till the game is played. Don’t get me wrong, I respect the BIG , I am glad we became a part of it and look forward to playing the storied teams that are part of it. Today was not how anyone in Nebraska thought that game would be played out, myself included. Wine or lose I will cheer for the victor as the game unwinds. (btw I live in Iowa now and spent about 10 years in Oklahoma, so no newbie to living in enemy territory, yet staying true.

Bryan, you have to remember, OSU was tearing up NEB in Lincoln last year till Miller went out with a knee injury, and I know injuries are part of the game, but if that didn’t happen OSU would have beaten NEB down 2 years running. NEB had an amazing season this year no doubt, but Wis will give them all they want on Dec 1st.

I love you BIG 10 old timers dissmissing Nebr. You should read outside of your conference from time to time so you know what you dealing with. Yeah OSU won this year, last year they didnt. In fact Nebr did quite well with the nations 3rd hardest sched (google it). Been watching them since the 60s, people in Nebr are not suprised when they win, they expect it. It does not always happen of course, but you would not see as much as the opposing teams colors in their stadium as we did in Iowa today. Everybody hates a winner (winningest team since 1970 , google that too).

Michigan can win if they don’t get conservative. Ohio St will win if Braxton can get loose. Sorry Michigan, it matters not because the Big Red will put an end to your conference title hopes the day before you play.

Joe, good points. Gardner has put up his numbers against 3 of the worst defenses in football, and OSU will move the ball at will against Michigan’s defense, just like NW did. OSU by 2 scores at least.
