Minnesota WR A.J. Barker tweets he's quit team

Minnesota wide receiver A.J. Barker tweeted Sunday that he had quit the football team and plans to transfer. Barker, a junior, is Minnesota’s leading receiver in every major statistical category, with 30 receptions, 577 yards and seven touchdowns, despite missing the last three games due to an ankle injury. Barker went for 135 yards and two touchdowns in his last game vs. Purdue on Oct. 27.
