Thank you for all you have done for the Nebraska program and Nebraska overall, from your days as a player at Hastings college to the assistant offensive coach with Bob Devaney who turned the progam around and made us National Champions, to Head Coach and more National Championships. Your calm, never changing emotion on the sideline was a demonstration of a gentleman and brilliant offensive genius.

Enjoy your retirement and we will always have the memories.

what a joke showing Nebraska and the 1994 team on BTN tonight. they were not even in the Big ten that year. That was Penn State. Penn State would have beaten them in a title game. Shame on you Big Ten Network. Get real

they were honoring the retirement of a very special man to nebraska. you know that the league we were in would not do it. we appreciate the good thoughts from btn on Tom’s leaving. thank you.

From a buckeye…very happy that Nebraska came to the B10. Always had a lot of respect for the Huskers and Osborne. Now go win the B10 title game and take care of business in the Rose Bowl.

Penn State only became number 1 after two QBs went down to injuries in one game. Tommy Frazier had a blood clot problem, Brook Berringer had a collapsed lung and missed one game, Kansas which Nebraska won with a third string QB who only handed off to the running backs. At the end of the season Penn State complained that they should never have been jumped as they had not a game as number 1. Well Nebraska had not lost a game, just QBs, when Penn State moved ahead of Nebraska. After two additional Yards being added to the field in 1982, Penn State should never have been number 1 in 1994 by their own staement.

In 1994, Nebraska was number 1 until Tommy Frazier went down with blood clots and Brook Berringer went down in the smae game with a collapsed lung. Nebraska won the next game with Kansas by handing off to the running backs only. Nebraska did not lose a game but suddently Penn State jumped into number 1, not because Nebraska lost a game just two QBs in one game. At the end of the season that Nebraska won out, Nebraska was put back to number 1. Penn State screamed that they were number 1 and haddn’t lost a game so it was so unfair. Well Nebraska never lost a game when Penn State moved up in the first place just two injured QBs in one game.

Get real Penn State, in 1982 you got two extra yards to “win” your first title, one at the 2 yard line against Nebraska and the other yard at the end of the endzone in the bowl game. Number 1 seems to be an issue to Penn State.

Tom and his history at Nebraska is not just for the B1G, but for college football. What a great legacy he will leave on the sport. He is not the only one of course, but he is one of the few, who’s accomplishments and integrity, will be brought up when the great ones are thought of.

To Dr. Tom Osborne, thank you for all you have done for Nebraska and especially Big Red Football. (and to the petty, small minded Penn St. poster -shame on you, your ignorance and classless comment fully displays your ignorance)

Tom Osborne, pure class, honor integrity, decency and humility. He did everything the right way. Perhaps the best college coach ever and an even greater person, truly one of a kind. He will be missed beyond words.

Brad Wilson on 11/18/2012 @ 10:02pm EDT Said:

It truly was an honor to be part of the team. I was a manager, which to most means, water-boy, but for a disabled young man who loves football, I saw it as a way to go Division 1. Tom Osborne and his staff were a class act and a great role model to us. I will never forget him and am honored to call him friend. Congratulations Coach and I know you do not want this to be a big deal, but it is and we wish you well! Finally, thank you for your priorities: God, Family, School and football-in that order! Those of us who heard those August words will never forget-thank you and God Bless!

Penn State would not have been withing 28 points of Nebraska. You played a lackluster Oregon team and did not impress anyone.
