Nebraska stifled Minnesota's offense, giving up just six total yards in the second quarter, and the Cornhuskers now lead 24-0. Nebraska held the Golden Gophers to negative rushing yardage (-3 yards) in the quarter.

The Cornhuskers made their lead 17-0 when Imani Cross pounded in a three-yard touchdown run on the last play of a five-play, 63-yard drive.

Nebraska opened up the lead, 24-0, after marching down the field for a five-play, 34-yard drive that ended when Cross ran one yard to paydirt. The Cornhuskers started in good field position when Nebraska returned a punt.

The Cornhuskers' Taylor Martinez hit 200 yards passing for the game in the quarter, part of his 218-yard passing performance thus far.

Minnesota will get the ball to start the second half.
