Darrun Hilliard scored 22 points and Ryan Arcidiacono added 18 points as they teamed up to lead Villanova to an 89-81 overtime victory over Purdue on Thursday at Madison Square Garden in New York in the 2K Sports Classic.

FINAL: Villanova (3-0) trailed 72-64 with 1:14 remaining in regulation, but rallied to tie it and then win in overtime. Hilliard helped spark the Wildcats, with 7-of-10 shooting from the field. Purdue (1-2) struggled shooting the ball in the game. The Boilermakers shot 57 percent (16-of-28) from the charity stripe and 39 percent (30-of-76) from the field. Villanova shot just 39 percent from the field (24-of-61).

The Wildcats went 33-of-41 from the charity stripe as a team (80 percent). Villanova also got double-digit efforts from James Bell, who scored 15 and JayVaughn Pinkston, who scored 16. D.J. Byrd scored 16 points for Purdue in the loss. Donnie Hale was 4-of-5 from the floor and chipped in 11 points for the Boilermakers. Purdue also got double-digit games from Ronnie Johnson, who scored 12 and Terone Johnson, who scored 13.

HALFTIME: Ryan Arcidiacono has 10 points to lead Villanova to a 35-29 lead over Purdue at the end of the first half. The Wildcats trailed 6-3 when they broke out for an 8-0 run to overtake the Boilermakers and seize a five-point lead. Eleven Purdue players scored in the half. Purdue's Terone Johnson already has seven points.
