Trey Burke scored 22 points and Glenn Robinson III added 21, leading No. 5 Michigan to a 91-54 victory over IUPUI on Monday night in the NIT Season Tip-Off.

Burke equaled a career high with nine assists and Robinson made his first eight shots from the field. Michigan (2-0) has been a model of efficiency on offense so far this season. After beating Slippery Rock 100-62 in their opener, the Wolverines shot 60 percent from the field and went 13 of 21 from 3-point range against IUPUI.

Michigan advances to play Cleveland State in the next round Tuesday night.

Purdue transfer John Hart scored 15 points for IUPUI (1-1).

FINAL: Trey Burke scored 22 points, grabbed three rebounds and handed out nine assists as No. 5 Michigan defeated IUPUI 91-54 on Monday at Crisler Center in Ann Arbor in the Preseason NIT – North Region.

Burke and Glenn Robinson III both had good games for Michigan (2-0). Burke shot 8-of-15 from the field and made 4-of-7 three-pointers. Robinson III contributed 21 points, pulled down six rebounds, and knocked down 8-of-9 shot attempts.

The Wolverines hit 60 percent of their field goals (33-of-55). Michigan was hot from long range, hitting 13-of-21 threes for a 62 percent night from beyond the arc.

The Wolverines also got double-digit performances from Nik Stauskas, who scored 11 and Jordan Morgan and Tim Hardaway Jr., who each scored 10.

IUPUI (1-1) had trouble finding its touch, shooting just 35 percent (22-of-63) from the field. The Jaguars got double-digit efforts from John Hart, who scored 15.

Michigan won the rebounding battle en route to victory, pulling down 39 boards to 21 for IUPUI. The Wolverines went to the line 12 more times than the Jaguars and made the most of their opportunities, shooting 12-of-16. IUPUI committed 13 fouls and shot 2-of-4 from the line.

Burke shot 4-of-7 from the field. Robinson III scored 16 points, grabbed four rebounds, and shot 6-of-6 from the field.

The Jaguars trailed 26-25 before allowing Michigan to go on a 19-6 run to close the half.

The Wolverines fired often and fired with accuracy from distance, hitting 70 percent (7-of-10) of their three-point attempts. Michigan distributed the ball well, with nine assists on 15 field goals in the first half.
