Sam Ficken drilled two field goals, and Penn State now leads 20-6. The Nittany Lions held Nebraska to 13 yards through the air during the quarter. Penn State is currently on a 13-point run. An 84-yard drive that ended when Brett Maher made a 27-yard field goal helped the Cornhuskers narrow the deficit to 7-6. Nebraska threw just one time during that march downfield.

The Nittany Lions opened up the lead, 10-6, after marching down the field for a seven-play, 26-yard drive that ended when Ficken drilled a 27-yard field goal. Jesse Della Valle's punt return set Penn State up at the Nebraska 36-yard line to start the drive.

The Nittany Lions opened up the lead, 17-6, after Matt McGloin tossed a 10-yard touchdown to Jesse James to end a five-play, 31-yard drive. Penn State started in good field position when the Nittany Lions recovered a fumble.

Penn State made its lead 20-6 when Ficken kicked a 38-yard field goal on the last play of a six-play, 35-yard drive.

The Cornhuskers will receive to start the second half.
