Twenty-four consecutive points in the second quarter has given Ohio State a commanding 31-6 lead. The Buckeyes opened up the lead, 10-6, after Drew Basil kicked a 31-yard field goal to end a 10-play, 61-yard drive. Ohio State opened up the lead, 17-6, after marching down the field for a five-play, 64-yard drive that ended when Carlos Hyde pounded in a five-yard touchdown run.

The Buckeyes added to their advantage when Braxton Miller threw a 51-yard touchdown pass to Rod Smith, capping off a three-play, 61-yard drive to give Ohio State the lead, 24-6.

The Buckeyes expanded their lead to 31-6 thanks to a five-play, 50-yard drive that ended when Hyde ran four yards to paydirt.

Ohio State will start the second half with the ball.
