Big Ten shut out of latest Coaches Poll

For the first time in the history of the Coaches Poll, the Big Ten has zero ranked teams. Perfect Ohio State (6-0, 2-0), which is ranked No. 8 in the AP Poll, and surging Penn State are not eligible for the poll this season due to NCAA sanctions. Nebraska and Northwestern fell out of the poll following losses at Ohio State and Penn State, respectively.

Husker fans not happy with the self inflicted [again] loss to the Buckeyes. Nine penalties, several fumbles,[one lost], three interceptions,[one returned for a score], too many missed tackles and missed assignments to count and a defense that packed it in in the 4th quarter and a head coach who in his post game comments looked stunned and even more stunningly admitted he didn’t know what to do to fix the teams problems. The defensive guru Pelini, who was brought in to clean up a defense that looked very much like what we are seeing agan here this year, and too often last year, is definitely on the hot seat. Have never heard the fans calling in after the game as mad as they were after last nights 2nd half collapse and I’ve been following the Huskers since Devaney arrived here 50 years ago. Fans are completely fed up with the team appearing to be outcoached, outschemed and five years into Pelini’s tenure still making the same costly mistakes time after time that have plagued this coaching staff for five years. Four losses a year might not sound so bad to some schools, but it is definitely not where Husker fans expect their team to be stuck at indefinitely and changes will be coming if this team does not rebound and finish very strongly. Most Husker fans still like Bo and want him, his staff and the team to succeed, but we have seen 4 to 5 games a year, every year Bo has been here, like last nights and this program does not seem to be on the right track and a coach admitting after a game that he has no clue what to do to fix the problems, does not bode well for his future here [or anywhere].

I have to agree with the coaches poll, the big 10 has no teams that deserve to go to any bowl games at this time except the 2 that can’t go.
