Fans were treated to more punts than points in the third quarter, and Indiana now leads 27-17. Dan Conroy's 46-yard field goal represented the quarter's lone scoring and cut the deficit to 27-17t.

The teams' stale offenses boomed a total of six punts in the quarter. The Hoosiers sniffed out Michigan State's rushing attack in the quarter, holding the Spartans to 14 rush yards.

Indiana has possession at its own 23-yard line to start the fourth quarter.
