Things got interesting right before the half. On 4th-and-goal right in the final seconds, Michael Mauti intercepted Nathan Scheelhaase in the end zone and returned it all the way to the Illinois 1-yard line. With one second left, Penn State attempted a field goal, but Illinois blocked Sam Ficken's chip shot.
