Rex Burkhead ran for 119 yards and two touchdowns and No. 25 Nebraska made quick work of Idaho State in a 73-7 victory Saturday. The Cornhuskers (3-1) led 35-0 after the first quarter and 45-0 at half. The Bengals (1-2), of the Football Championship Subdivision, have lost 34 straight road games.

Burkhead, playing for the first time since he sprained his left knee in the opener, broke a 61-yard touchdown run on his third carry. His 2-yard TD in the second quarter made it 42-0.

Nebraska also got touchdowns on Ciante Evans' 29-yard interception return and Ameer Abdullah's 81-yard punt return, making it the first time since the 2009 game against Colorado that the Huskers scored on offense, defense and special teams.

FINAL: Rex Burkhead broke out against Idaho State, piling up 119 rushing yards and scoring two touchdowns to lead No. 22 Nebraska to a 73-7 victory on Saturday at Memorial Stadium. The Cornhuskers mounted enough of a lead in the first quarter to hang on for the victory.

Nebraska's explosive offense used big plays to take down the Bengals. The Cornhuskers burned Idaho State's defense for nine plays of more than 20 yards. With 4:00 to go in the first quarter, Taylor Martinez and Kenny Bell combined for a 68-yard touchdown, Nebraska's longest play on the day. The long touchdown gave the Cornhuskers a 28-0 lead.

Nebraska's Martinez was good for 165 yards during the game, completing nine of 13 passes. Martinez finished the game with two touchdowns and no interceptions.

The Cornhuskers finished with 571 total yards, including 179 yards passing while completing 11 of 17 attempts. Nebraska's ground game balanced its offense, bringing 392 yards on 53 attempts.

The Bengals' offense finished the game having gained 206 yards, including 180 passing yards on 20 completions. Idaho State struggled to move the ball on the ground, earning 26 yards on 29 attempts.
