Nebraska ran for 101 yards in the quarter, and the Cornhuskers now lead 66-0. Nebraska held Idaho State to negative rushing yardage (-4 yards) in the quarter. The Cornhuskers made the score 52-0 when Ameer Abdullah returned a punt for a touchdown.

Nebraska added to its advantage when Ron Kellogg and Steven Osborne hooked up for a six-yard touchdown, capping off a four-play, 34-yard drive to give the Cornhuskers the lead, 59-0. Nebraska began the drive with good field position after Justin Blatchford blocked a punt.

The Cornhuskers opened up the lead, 66-0, after marching down the field for a six-play, 44-yard drive that ended when Braylon Heard turned a handoff into a 27-yard touchdown. Jamal Turner's punt return set Nebraska up to start the drive. The Cornhuskers threw just one time on that possession.

Nebraska will start the fourth quarter with possession on the Bengals' 41-yard line.
