At the end of the second quarter, Nebraska holds a commanding 45-0 lead over Idaho State. The Cornhuskers' Rex Burkhead ran for 30 yards and one touchdown in the quarter. Nebraska opened up the lead, 42-0, after Burkhead ran two yards to paydirt to end a five-play, 40-yard drive. The Cornhuskers started in good field position when Nebraska recovered a fumble.

The Cornhuskers added to their advantage when Brett Maher made a 49-yard field goal, putting a bow on a seven-play, 46-yard drive to give Nebraska the lead, 45-0.

The Cornhuskers' Burkhead hit 100 yards rushing for the game in the quarter, part of his 119-yard rushing performance thus far.

The Bengals will receive to start the second half.
