Caleb TerBushpassed for two touchdowns and ran for another to help Purdue defeat Eastern Michigan 54-16 on Saturday afternoon. Akeem Hunt ran for 106 yards and a touchdown on just four attempts and scored a 50-yard touchdown on his only catch. Brandon Cottom ran for 95 yards and Antavian Edison caught five passes for 78 yards for the Boilermakers (2-1), who were coming off a last-minute 20-17 loss to Notre Dame.

FOURTH QUARTER: Akeem Hunt put the team on his back in Purdue's 54-16 win over Eastern Michigan on Saturday at Ross-Ade Stadium, rushing for 107 rushing yards and one touchdown. The Boilermakers added to a big lead in the fourth quarter.

The Eagles' defense gave up six plays of at least 20 yards. With 2:18 to go in the second quarter, Brandon Cottom turned a handoff into an 87-yard touchdown, the Boilermakers' longest play on the day. The long touchdown gave Purdue a 27-9 lead.

The Boilermakers' Caleb TerBush threw for 159 yards completing 16 of 24 passes. TerBush finished the game with two touchdowns and one interception. O.J. Ross hauled in five catches for 23 yards.

Purdue finished with 576 total yards, including 185 yards passing while completing 19 of 31 attempts. The Boilermakers also rushed 42 times for 391 yards.

Eastern Michigan's Alex Gillett passed for 65 yards, completing nine of 15 throws. He threw three interceptions. Gillett was also a threat on the ground, as he rushed for 23 yards on seven attempts.

The Eagles' offense finished the game having gained 314 yards, including 144 passing yards on 14 completions. Rushing was a key ingredient in Eastern Michigan's offensive mix, bringing it 170 yards on 38 carries.
