Ohio State's defense dominated California's run game in the second, not giving up a single yard on the ground, and the Buckeyes now lead 20-7. The Golden Bears have given up 14 straight points.

Ohio State expanded its lead to 20-7 thanks to a four-play, 45-yard drive that ended when Braxton Miller found Jake Stoneburner open for a one-yard touchdown pass. The Buckeyes' drive was highlighted by Miller's 35-yard pass to Devin Smith. Ohio State began the drive with good field position after the Buckeyes returned a punt.

California will start the second half with the ball.
