Williams Arena Scoreboard
@GopherSports

The Big Ten's oldest basketball arena won't look all that old – at least in the scoreboard department – when the 2012-13 season tips. That's right, Williams Arena's new and improved scoreboard has been installed and is ready for Minnesota basketball.

Coming in at 11 feet, seven inches by 13 feet, eight inches, the high definition scoreboard is a big addition to an arena that opened in 1918. And it figures to be a huge hit among players and fans.

The project was part of an $8 million upgrade that also included a new scoreboard at Mariucci Arena  and a new sound system and control room at TCF Bank Stadium, which will control the video boards at all three facilities.

The scoreboard will debut to the public Oct. 31, when the women?s basketball team hosts Concordia-St. Paul. And the men will open its home slate the following day against Minnesota State.
