Tre Roberson threw for 85 yards and one touchdown and ran for 89 yards and two touchdowns for Indiana and the Hoosiers lead 21-6 at the end of the first quarter. Indiana threw for 85 yards and ran for 157 yards in the first quarter.

The Hoosiers got on the scoreboard first, rattling off a one-play, 50-yard drive that ended in a score when Roberson took a quarterback draw all the way for a 50-yard touchdown run.

Massachusetts capped off a 75-yard drive when Mike Wegzyn scrambled for a 16-yard touchdown run to make the score 7-6. The Minutemen's drive was keyed by Wegzyn's 56-yard pass.

Indiana opened up the lead, 14-6, after Roberson took a quarterback draw all the way for a 39-yard touchdown run to end a three-play, 75-yard drive.

The Hoosiers added to their advantage when Roberson and Shane Wynn hooked up for a five-yard touchdown, the clincher of a six-play, 76-yard drive to give Indiana the lead, 21-6.

The Hoosiers have possession on their own 48-yard line to start the second quarter.
