Virginia sniffed out Penn State's rushing attack in the third quarter, holding the Nittany Lions to 17 rush yards and the Cavaliers have taken the lead 10-7. Virginia threw for 81 yards during the quarter. Penn State has given up 10 straight points.

Michael Rocco's one-yard touchdown pass to Jeremiah Mathis put the Cavaliers on top 10-7, the clincher of an 11-play, 77-yard drive.

Virginia has possession on its own 14-yard line to start the fourth quarter.
