Indiana quarterback Tre Roberson injured his leg on a running play with 12:55 to go in the second quarter. The sophomore quarterback was put on a stretcher and taken off the field in an ambulance. Roberson was replaced by backup quarterback Cameron Coffman.

Roberson left the game with 105 rushing yards and 98 passing yards..

In the second quarter, Indiana's offense looked sharp and scored  17 points. The Hoosiers now lead 38-6.

Indiana threw for 109 yards and ran for 80 yards in the quarter. The Hoosiers added to their advantage when Mitch Ewald kicked a 19-yard field goal, polishing off a 12-play, 74-yard drive to give Indiana the lead, 24-6.

The Hoosiers opened up the lead, 31-6, after marching down the field for an eight-play, 65-yard drive that ended when Stephen Houston pounded in a two-yard touchdown run.

Indiana expanded its lead to 38-6 thanks to an 11-play, 78-yard drive that ended when Isaiah Roundtree turned a handoff into a two-yard touchdown.

Massachusetts will get the ball to start the second half.
