Michigan State looks to be in control of the game as it leads 24-0 at the end of the second quarter. The Spartans opened up the lead, 14-0, after marching down the field for a 10-play, 87-yard drive that ended when Le'Veon Bell turned a handoff into a seven-yard touchdown.

Michigan State expanded its lead to 21-0 thanks to a nine-play, 73-yard drive that ended when Andrew Maxwell threw a 20-yard touchdown pass to Dion Sims. The Spartans didn't run a single time on that possession.

Michigan State opened up the lead, 24-0, after Dan Conroy kicked a 29-yard field goal to end a five-play, 37-yard drive. The key play on the Spartans' drive was Maxwell's 37-yard pass to Bennie Fowler. Michigan State started in good field position at Central Michigan's 49-yard line when Johnny Adams intercepted a Ryan Radcliff pass.

The Spartans' Maxwell passed for 133 yards in the quarter to put him over 200 yards for the game. Maxwell has 216 yards through the air so far today.

The Chippewas are set to receive to start the second half.
