Indiana's Stephen Houston led the offense in the second quarter. He ran for 28 yards and one touchdown, and the Hoosiers now lead 17-10. Houston ran 15 yards to paydirt to break the 7-7 standoff in favor of Indiana. The play put the finishing touches on an 11-play, 74-yard scoring drive. The Hoosiers expanded their lead to 17-7 thanks to a 16-play, 65-yard drive that ended when Mitch Ewald made a 31-yard field goal.

Indiana State made the score 17-10 after Tanner Fritschle kicked a 45-yard field goal to finish off a 65-yard drive. Indiana will receive to start the second half.
