I think Nebraska will be a solid team. The Huskers will build upon their inaugural season in the Big Ten. However, I think they will finish second in the Legends Division behind Michigan.

WINS: Southern Miss, UCLA, Arkansas State, Idaho State, Northwestern, Michigan State, Penn State, Minnesota, and Iowa

TOSS UP: Wisconsin

LOSSES: Michigan, Ohio State

10-2, 9-3ish season

In the first edition of this story, we had Nebraska's 2011 record incorrect. The Huskers went 9-4 last season. The correction has been made.

Tom, thanks for another of your always fine articles...like most Husker fans, I can't wait until September 1 and, as always, wild-eyed optimism doth prevail...so, here's hoping both of us have a ton of fun this season..

Nebraska is really going to be a sleeper team in the Big Ten Conference this season. There were obviously some struggles last year, but I attribute most of those to what I call "new conference syndrome". Nebraska had to prepare to play twelve teams that were not on the previous season's schedule. The Conhuskers play Michigan, Penn State, and Wisconsin all at home this season. Their two toughest road games will be at Michigan State and at Ohio State. I definitely think that this team could finish the season with only two conference losses and could earn a spot in the conference championship game. As of now, I actually predict that Nebraska will play in Indianapolis in December, win the game there, and play in Pasadena on New Year's Day.
