Dienhart: NU's Fitzgerald Floats Title Idea

Northwestern?s Pat Fitzgerald is a smart man who calls himself the ?youngest 'old school' coach? in the nation. But he had one of the most radical ideas today to deal with the perceived competitive imbalance between the Legends and Leaders Divisions.

With two Leaders teams (Ohio State and Penn State) not eligible for the postseason or Big Ten crown, Fitzgerald proposed having the Legends Division champ meet a team selected from among the other nine schools in the conference championship game.
