You may recall a few weeks ago when a band of Big Ten Conference mascots made a spoof video of Carly Rae Jepsen?s ?Call Me Maybe? video, the latest in a long line of spoofs. It was funny, it drew plenty of attention, and it all seemed innocent enough. That is, until someone noticed the video didn't include Purdue Pete and Northwestern's Willie the Wildcat. And now Pete and the 'Cat have responded.

Subsequent news coverage of the mascots' initial viral video revealed that the omission of those two mascots was an unfortunate miscommunication between the mascot programs. Honestly, we can't be surprised given that mascots rarely if ever speak. But now, Purdue Pete and Willie the Wildcat have posted a YouTube video that has a little fun with the whole story.

Good news: They didn't use "Call Me Maybe." Bad news: They used Lady Gaga's "Telephone." Watch it below.

We liked to see Willie using BTN.com (see the 1:53 mark in the video above), but this video leads us to ask yet another probing question: Why does Purdue Pete have a cell phone while Willie uses a pay phone?

Expect to see more mascot antics at the upcoming Big Ten Media Day & Kickoff Luncheon this Thursday and Friday in Chicago. Mascots, do not disappoint us.
