MSU's defense will be top 5 in the nation, a lot of it is if the passing game develops. M's defense will take a step back and we know D-Rob can be stopped when he plays a good defense. Neb struggles against mobile QB's and when their running game is slowed down, T-Mart hasn't proved himself as a passer yet. Wis. definitely should be on the list too, their passing game will be questioned also.

I am going to be realistic. The Big Ten does not have a team right now that can win a national championship. Since Ohio State's national championship in 2002, the only Big Ten teams that have been legitimate national championship contenders were 2005 Penn State, 2006 Ohio State, 2006 Michigan, 2007 Ohio State, and 2008 Penn State if the Nittany Lions hadn't lost late in the season to Iowa. The Big Ten's next legitimate national championship contender will probably be Urban Meyer's Ohio State Buckeyes in another year or two.
