NBA Draft: Where will ex-Big Ten players land?
Thursday night is the night several former Big Ten basketball players have dreamed about their entire lives. In a matter of hours, guys like Meyers Leonard, Jared Sullinger and Draymond Green, among others, will hear their name called at the 2012 NBA Draft. When will they get picked? And by which teams? Dive inside this post for all of the latest mock drafts from around the web. And don’t forget to watch BTN.com’s NBA draft interviews and features before the event starts.
Before we get to the mock drafts, let’s consider the Big Ten products most likely to be selected. Here they are, and in order:
1. Illinois’ Meyers Leonard
2. Ohio State’s Jared Sullinger
3. Michigan State’s Draymond Green
4. Ohio State’s William Buford
5. Purdue’s Robbie Hummel
6. Wisconsin’s Jordan Taylor
7. Northwestern’s John Shurna
The top four guys, it seems, will be taken at some point Thursday. Hummel is the most interesting case here. Will a team take a gamble on the oft-injured but talented ex-Boiler? Back to the top of the list: Leonard’s stock is rising entering the draft, while Sullinger’s is going the opposite direction due to back and hamstring issues.
