Spartans fall in NCAA Tourney Opener

Pepperdine starter Jon Moscot threw his sixth complete game of the season and the second-seeded Waves used a four-run sixth inning to defeat third-seeded Michigan State in the first round of the Stanford Regional Friday afternoon at Klein Field at Sunken Diamond. The Spartans (37-22) now fall into the consolation bracket in the four-team, double elimination regional and face Fresno State at 4 p.m. ET Saturday. More at MSUSpartans.com.
