Joe Haase pitched eight innings of three-run ball and Kevin Plawecki hit a go-ahead two-run homer in the seventh inning, as the Big Ten Pitcher and Player of the Year led No. 15 Purdue baseball to a 5-4 victory against Ohio State Thursday evening on day two of the Big Ten Tournament. Purdue advances to play instate rival and No. 2 seed Indiana at 7:05 p.m. ET Friday live on BTN/BTN2Go. The winner of Friday night's game advances to the tourney title game.

The No. 6 seed Ohio State baseball team battled but fell to top-seeded and 18th-ranked Purdue, 5-4, Thursday evening at Huntington Park. With the loss, the Buckeyes (32-26) face No. 4 seed Nebraska in an elimination game at 12:05 p.m. Friday. The winner will advance to take on No. 5 seed Michigan State at 3:35 p.m.
