Beilein's son named West Virginia Wesleyan coach

Patrick Beilein, the son of Michigan head coach John Beilein and a former Michigan graduate assistant (2008-10), has been named the head coach of West Virginia Wesleyan, according to pjstar.com. Beilein, 29, played for West Virginia under his father and was a member of the 2005 Elite Eight team.

The younger Beilein spent the 2010-11 season as Bradley’s director of basketball operations. Despite yet turning 30, Patrick is getting his first head gig seven years later than his father. That’s right, John Beilein got his first head coaching position at a high school when he was 22.
