Michigan, NU fall in NCAA women's tennis action

NO. 2 FLORIDA ELIMINATES MICHIGAN
Despite a close doubles point and an upset of the nation's top tandem, the No. 15-ranked University of Michigan women's tennis team could not overcome a slow start in singles play, falling, 4-0, to No. 2-seeded and defending NCAA champion Florida in the third round of the NCAA Championships on Thursday evening at the University of Georgia's Dan Magill Tennis Complex. STANFORD OUSTS NORTHWESTERN IN THIRD ROUND
Northwestern drew Stanford in the third round of the NCAA Championships for the second straight year and for the second time in a row it was the Cardinal that was moving on to the quarterfinals at the end of the day. 4th-seeded Stanford defeated 13th-seeded Northwestern at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex in Athens, Ga., 4-1.
