The Boilermaker bats came through with three runs in the seventh to pull off a 4-2 comeback victory over Illinois softball in Game 2 on Saturday. Purdue trailed 2-0 after three innings and scored one in the fifth and three in the seventh to snag the win. The Michigan State softball team hosted Iowa in a double-header on Saturday and dropped both games to the Hawkeyes. The Spartans failed to get on the board in the first game as they were defeated 6-0 and then fell 7-1 in the second. Read more at MSUSpartans.com
A walk-off hit into left field by Mary Massei gave Wisconsin a sweep over Penn State on Saturday afternoon at Goodman Diamond for the first time since 1997. With a 4-1 win over the Nittany Lions (13-25 overall, 5-9 Big Ten) in the first game of the doubleheader, the Badgers (26-13, 9-4) became the fastest team to reach 25 wins in school history. Northwestern opened a five-run lead early Saturday in the first game of its Big Ten series at Indiana, but the Hoosiers came all the way back to claim an 8-6 victory. A pair of four-run innings powered the Nebraska softball team to an 11-2 victory over Ohio State at a chilly Buckeye Field in the first of two games Saturday night. The Husker offense tied its season high with four home runs in the win, while producing 14 hits, its most in Big Ten Conference play.
