Zeller gave Indiana (27-8) a boost, thanks to 5-of-9 shooting from the field.

Winning the battle on the boards was crucial for Indiana as it grabbed 32 rebounds to 19 for Virginia Commonwealth. Down 33-31 in the first, the Rams broke out for an 11-0 run to take a nine-point lead with 1:49 left in the first half. Brandenberg capped the run off with a field goal that helped the Rams lead 42-41 at the half. With the loss, Virginia Commonwealth’s seven-game winning streak came to an end.
